WEEK 35 "Overdose On The Holy Ghost"

Image
Hello beautiful people! How is everyone doing?! There have been ups and downs with the people we are teaching! But most of our friends are progressing toward baptism so well! Vinny is doing his best with no smoking! We started a 12 step addiction recovery program with him that he loves! Miracle of the week! Obviously I see big and small miracles every single day but this one really hit me! As we were driving down the road on the way home from dinner we saw a woman in a big empty parking lot. It looked like she was looking for something. We drove past and both sister Higgins and I felt like we needed to turn around and talk to her. We parked and asked her what she was looking for. She was a homeless woman looking for heart shaped rocks for her boyfriend who had recently gotten hit by a car and passed away. We looked for rocks with her and prayed with her. She asked if we had food or water. Sadly we didn't. But we both felt a huge urge to help her. We drove home to get water, food, p...

Hello hello beautiful people! Another great week here in Oregon! I feel like I say this every few weeks...but where is the time going!? My goodness I'm almost halfway!  Okay so miracles, miracles, MIRACLES! We have a sweet friend named Ebrima, from the Gambia, who we found on one of the stake Facebook pages! We have done a couple video chats with him and he is so, so amazing! He is sharing the Book of Mormon with all his friends and family and just soaking the gospel right up! He sends us pictures of him doing scripture studies with the people in his town. He has a hard time understanding but has the deepest desire to learn! After teaching him the first couple of lessons we got in contact with the missionaries in the Gambia to take over! Here is part of their reply: " Me and my companion are the first two missionaries here in Gambia and we just got your referral for Ebrima Fadera!" You guys! Just this year they opened up the Gambia for missionaries! How amazing that at th...

WEEK 33! "Eternity A New Musical"

What a week, what a week! There were ups, downs and many miracles! I am loving the work, the good days and the hard days! I say hard days instead of bad days because I can genuinely say there are no bad days on the Lord's mission! Each day I learn and grow and that makes it a great day!  Sister Higgins and I have been praying hard to see miracles lately and the Lord is definitely answering our prayers! This week on the way home from a lesson we decided we needed to stop and get gas. We were going to go before but kept pushing it off. We waited at the pump for 5 minutes and no one came to fill our car (I'm still not used to letting someone else pump my gas for me...). Finally a man came out only after we were pulling away. We then decided to go to another gas station across the street. A man named John pumped our gas. We made small talk and he opened up to us. He told us he wasn't okay. He said he can't figure out what's wrong with him and why he feels suicidal. He a...

With all our friends, office hours, meetings, and whitewashing in we feel like we need each day extended a couple of hours to get all the work done! I adore my companion Sister Higgins! And the I love love LOVE the 4th ward family and all of the cute friends I get to teach here!  With in all of teaching we found time to do service! I love doing service! We were able to do service for some members, friends and new referrals! We went to a ranch and got to work with horses! This was the biggest tender mercie ever! This wasn't just a field with horses in it...this was a beau...
