WEEK 6! Black Tar And Burns!

Image
Hello ya'll! I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas! It's probably weird to see my name come through your email on a day besides Monday but today is my pday for the week due to Christmas and a temple trip to Portland that we had planned! Sadly it got canceled due to the snowy roads:( and my comp is sick...we are getting tested for Covid tomorrow. Brenda (the lady we baptized last week) has Covid and has been in the hospital. We think we may have gotten it from her. Being locked up in the apartment the last few days hasn't been fun but it'd given me a lot of time to study and ponder which has been really nice.       We (by we I mean my comp) almost started the apartment on fire!! My companion has told me that she doesn't know how to cook. That definitely came into play this week. I love to cook and make dinner so usually I cook for us. My comp and I decided to make nobake cookies for some friends we are teaching. We decided on nobake cookies because h...

WEEK 5 MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS friends!      CHRISTMAS is in 5 DAYS! Can you belive it?! The weeks goes by so fast! I feel like I blink and it's Pday again. This week was absolutely CRAZY busy. We started with exchanges! I was able to be with the one and only sister Neilson! She is one of the most happy, bright and energetic souls I have ever met! When I say energetic I mean ENERGETIC! She is so positive, optimistic and never stops talking (some may same I never stop talking either so I guess it's fitting). In a short 24 hours I learned so many amazing things from Sister Neilson! She is truly an amazing missionary!       There is a sweet old lady we "teach" named Margie. The first time I went over there, before she opened the door, I could smell essential oils. The dress I wore the first time meeting her STILL smells like a mix of oils. Missionaries have been working with her for a little over a year. She calls herself a missionary too ahaha. We always have a lesson ...

Week 4! ONE MONTH DOWN WHAT?!

Hello beautiful people!         I hit my ONE MONTH as a missionary this week! It seems absolutely crazy. The days go by so slow but the weeks fly bye! Time is a crazy concept.       CHRISTMAS is in 13 DAYS! It still hasn't set in that it's almost Christmas! I'm used to the white snowy Christmas in Utah but this year I'm getting the rain! This week we were able to participate in quite a few Christmas activities which helped it to feel like the holidays! We went to the young women's Christmas party and made cookies with them! My companion and I decided to do a little finding activity this week. In my mission we aren't allowed to tract (go door to door finding people to teach). We use Facebook to find people and our own creative ideas. We decided to do a hot chocolate stand at a park! We gave away hot chocolate and were able to make some cool connections with people. Most of the people couldn't believe it was free...many of them were shocked and trie...

Week 3!!! COOS BAY, WHAT DO YAH SAY?!

Image
Hello beautiful people! I have officially made it to OREGON! I finished my final week at the MTC. I absolutely loved the MTC! I was so blessed to have become best friends with my beautiful companion! I miss her so much already! My district was seriously the best! Saying goodbye to everyone was so sad but I know that they are all going to be great missionaries! District 4J will always have a special place in my heart. We woke up at 4am to get to the airport. I was able to travel with 10 other Eugene missionaries! It was so fun to travel with a group of missionaries who were so pumped to get out to the field.  COOS BAY WHAT DO YAH SAY?!       I am in Coos Bay!!! SAY WHAT?! It's one out of two areas on the coast that sisters are able to go to. To say I'm lucky is an understatement. I am so happy to be here on the coast! Despite all the homeless people, drugs, cat ladies, free spirits and rain it is absolutely beautiful here! This first week of being in the field ha...
