WEEK 26 & 27 Trials Of Faith And Octopus Tentacles
Hello hello beautiful family and friends!!! I hope that everyone is doing great! It's been a couple weeks but I'll give everyone the low down and catch yall up to speed! We started a new transfer last week! I'm in my 5th transfer and shocker me and Murry are staying together ahah! This is my 4th out of 5 transfers with her! I think God knows we have a lot to learn from each other!
Two week ago we had Elder Pingree of the seventy come and visit our mission! It was such an amazing and uplifting experience! He got all of us missionaries fired up to keep finding God's children! If you haven't heard his talk you should go listen to it!("I Have a Work for Thee", I Highly recommend it:)
This week was the most stressful week of my life! But it was the best thing that could have happened to me!
Sister Murdoch and I taught Sunday school for the adults and gave a presentation on Social media and how members can be involved in missionary work though social media! It was a pretty big presentation and we had no clue what we were doing. There was a lot or pressure on this presentation working out and especially scary with having our mission presidency and stake president there there watch! This presentation was the first of the 12 that we have to do in 2 other stakes! We spent the whole week running around like chickens with their heads cut off (been doing a lot of this lately) trying to figure out how the heck we were going to put this together and pull it off!
Everything that could go wrong was going wrong! We called 13 people in the ward to get things squared away and no one answered or ever called back. We felt anxious and kept wondering why everything was going wrong. After all we could do, we decided to put it into God's hands and prayed for a miracle. And a miracle we got!!
Yesterday when it came time to present, everything just fell into place, and things turned out better than we ever could have hoped for!!! I was able to witness a miracle this week and because of that my testimony has grown and has been strengthened! In my opinion there is no way 13 people didn't answer their phones. I know that the Lord needed me to struggle and learn how to give it to Him. The Lord helped me realize that this truly is His work and if we give it our best effort and then leave it in his hands the outcome will be far better than we could have expected. This applies to all aspects of life! We try our best, have faith, give it to the Lord and we learn something new in the process.
A few other things that have happened recently:
We did service for a man named Deo! He is a sweet Figian man! We were able to witness miracles as we served Deo! We mowed his lawn and taught him and his wife Anita about the gospel! In the process of mowing their lawn I broke their lawn mower!!! YOU GUYS I felt so awful but Deo and Anita just laughed, brushed it off and said it was about ready to go anyways! We pray that we will be able to continue serving and loving the Karans and be able to invite them to learn more about Jesus Christ!
This week we ate at a Chinese buffet with a couple members! I am terrified of buffets...they just kinda gross me out!! But thank heavens this one wasn't too bad? We did try octopus which was quite the experience!
A group of us sisters hiked Spencer's Butte! It was absolutely breath taking! Oregon is seriously the most beautiful place ever.
I love being a missionary, I LOVE the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I love each of you! Thank you all for your love and support, it means the world to me! I hope and pray that you all can feel how much God loves every one of you. Let me know if there is anything I can do for any of you. With all my love and prayers,
♡ Sister Parry
