WEEK 22 Happy Easter!

Hey hey whats up yall?! This week was a great week! Nothing too crazy or exciting happened! Mostly just working in the office from 10-5. I am starting to get used to my new position. Adjusting is taking time but I'm finally getting it in my head that FHAM is where the Lord needs me to be. We were able to film a lot of really amazing families this week. I love getting to know these families and hearing all their amazing stories!

Mini Miracle:

I don't know about all of you but it's the small things for me, in every aspect of life. The small things are the big things! This week we were filming a sweet lady in her home. While filming I tightened the camera a little too tight to the mount of the tripod (big muscles I know). We couldn't get it off and weren't able to use that camera for our filming project that night. We tried and tried and TRIED to get it off. Murry spent 30 minutes trying and I laid in bed at night trying for quite some time as well. It wouldn't budge so we decided to take it to the office the next morning and have the elders take care of it. We were driving home after a long day in the office and realized we had TOTALLY FORGOTTEN to have the elders help us out. We had a filming project to be at in 30 minutes and had to have the camera ready. I grabbed the camera to work on it while Murry drove. It still wouldn't come off no matter how hard I tried. We decided to say a prayer and have faith. Murry and I have been working on faith this transfer and here was an opportunity to put our faith into action! After I said amen Murry said "it should work now." I grabbed the camera and YOU GUYS I kid you not it came off first try! It was so small and simple but it really showed me the importance of exercising faith in the Lord. He cares about all the things we care about and is always willing to succor us as we have act in faith.

Highlights:

• I got Menchies Froyo for the first time since being home (many of you know I am a slightly obsessed with it)

• Our sweet mission nurse does mine and my companions' laundry, she's literally the best!

• I'm the new co-founder of Sweater Saturday for the FHAM zone.

• We got the best news! We can have member meals any day of the week now! (It used to just be Saturdays and Sundays)

• I had lots of meetings! I like them because it provides opportunities for me to meet and get to know a lot of really amazing people!

SPIRITUAL: Someone special shared this with me for Easter so I thought I'd share it with all of you. It opened my eyes and I hope it opens yours as well and resonates in your heart. It's kind of long but worth the read:)

“Nothing on Saturday. Jesus is silent. God is silent. Saturday is silent. Easter weekend discussions tend to skip Saturday. Friday and Sunday get the press. The crucifixion and resurrection command our thoughts. But don't ignore Saturday. You have them, too. Silent Saturdays. The day between the struggle and the solution; the question and the answer; the offered prayer and the answer thereof. Saturday's silence torments us. Is God angry? Did I disappoint him? God knows Jesus is in the tomb, why doesn't He do something? Or, in your case God knows your career is in the tank, your finances are in the pit, your marriage is in a mess. Why doesn't He act? What are you supposed to do until He does? You do what Jesus did. Lie still. Stay silent. Trust God. Jesus died with this conviction: "You will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay' (Acts 2:27). Jesus knew God would not leave him alone in the grave. You need to know, God will not leave you alone with your struggles. His silence is not his absence, inactivity is never apathy. Saturdays have their purpose. They let us feel the full force of God's strength. Had God raised Jesus fifteen minutes after the death of His son, would we have appreciated the act? Were He to solve your problems the second they appear, would you appreciate His strength?

For His reasons, God inserts a Saturday between our Fridays and Sundays. If today is one for you, be patient. As one who endured the silent Saturday wrote: "Be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord" (James 5:7).”

I hope everyone had an amazing Easter and was able to feel the Saviors love as you focused on His Resurrection. As always feel free to reach out for prayers, a buddy to talk to or anything else I can do for you :)
