WEEK 20!!! Going And Growing

Hello beautiful friends and family!!! This week was a great week but a little bittersweet! I've been getting the feeling that I am leaving Coos Bay and sadly I am. But I am excited for the new adventure! I got called to be in the FHAM zone in Eugene. The FHAM zone is family history and social media which is ironic because lately I have loved family history! Anyways I am not sure what it all entails but I do know I will be going around the mission filming for stake Facebook pages, finding people on social media for other missionaries to teach, posting content, editing and sitting in a desk on a computer for many hours of the day. It will definitely be a different kind of missionary work and take some getting used to! Even with the sadness of leaving Coos the best news of all is that I will be companions with SISTER MURDOCH again! Today is kind of a crazy day with packing and saying my goodbyes so this email will be a little shorter:) I will just give a few highlights.

Monday: We met with our eternigator (someone who has been an investigator for what feels like eternity), Vera, who is 91! She is so sweet and is making big progress. She sure has helped me practice my patience. She also has helped me realize that the Lord's work is all in His hands and His timing. I was able to visit Marcia and say my goodbyes to her! This was our first time being able to meet with her since she set a baptismal date...which was almost a month ago. Her testimony is strong and her growth in the gospel is amazing. We had dinner with her and said our goodbyes. I knew she would be the first of many which was sad. To end the night we did some family history at the church with some friends that we found on social media! They loved it and are interested in learning more about the Gospel!

Tuesday: We went in person contacting at the Coos Bay Boardwalk! We went into all the cute little shops and talked with a few people. We didn't have too much success sadly. We were walking back to the car when a dog barked at us from a window inside an old vintage store. We were going to be late to our next appointment but I felt prompted to go in there. We ended up talked to the store owner, John, who ended up saying he wakes up on Sunday morning and always wants to go to a church but doesn't know where to go! We invited him and sadly I won't be here to see if he goes but it's all about planting seeds and inviting! My mission president always says "You missionaries are professional inviters''. We had dinner at the Dennings and invited our friend Hailee. She's been struggling with committing to baptism for a while now. Sister Denning was able to share her conversion story and it really helped Hailee with her hold ups! I'm praying that she will commit soon

Wednesday: Phyllis called us and told us she was sick. We took her over some herbal tea and visited with her! I absolutely love her. She was down and missing her husband who passed away a couple years ago. We shared about temples and the covenants we make. Her sad mood immediately looked up as we told her of the beautiful and significance of temple covenants! I think it gave her the motivation to try harder to quit smoking so she can be baptized and sealed to David. She is doing so well with her coffee and smoking. It's taking time but she truly is progressing faster than I would have expected! God is creating miracles for her!

Thursday: We went to the Medford temple! It was absolutely amazing and BEAUTIFUL! Here's your friendly reminder to go to the temple and take family names;) we got Chick-fil-A, which is a huge deal here in the OEM.

Saturday & Sunday: General Conference! We watched each session of General Confernce with a different memeber or friend! It wasn't anything like home with moms chocolate waffles;) or driving around during the 2 hour break but the Coos Bay ward is the best! Conference was incredible. It's amazing how much you can get out of it when you don't fall asleep on the couch.

SPIRITUAL
I hope that each of you were able to listen to conference! If not I hope each of you will find the time to do so:) I thought I'd share a little part that I loved.
"Being a disciple of Jesus Christ involves more than just hoping or believing. It calls for effort, movement, and commitment. It requires that we do something, being "doers of the word, and not hearers only." - Rebecca Craven
The Gospel of Jesus christ is a gospel of action! We are consistently needing to evaluate and change to grow and become the disciples that He needs us to be to gather His children! We need to keep up our spirutal momentum as  Russell M. Nelson said. I know that we will each see miracles and blessings as we continue to keep our spiritual momentum going and growing! I promise you that as you act and upon gospel and you will see your own personal conversion to Jesus Christ. I'd love to hear some of your favorite insights from conference as well;)

I love you all so very much and I hope that everything is going well in your lives! Please let me know if there's anything I can ever do for anyone EVER! Yall mean the world to me!
