WEEK 7! Be Ambitious For Christ!

HELLO FRIENDS!!! I hope you all have had an amazing start to the New Year and are keeping up with those New Years Resolutions;)

Sadly my companion and I did test positive for Covid! Our week consisted of LOTS of drives, tons of study time and being able to find more friends on Facebook! While Facebook finding we came in contact with a guy from the Philippines he was super interested in meeting over zoom. We called him and had a really cool experience. He loved hearing about our church and wants to continue meeting with us and learning more. Hopefully we will be able to keep teaching him and be able to pass him off to missionaries in the Philippines at some point! Another cool experience happened while Facebook finding this week! I messaged a random lady who lives in Coos Bay and tried my best to get a conversation going. She left me on read and then randomly two days later she called me on Facebook. I didn't know this lady at all. I answered and she was sobbing uncontrollably. She kept saying "sister Grace, sister Grace why" and couldn't stop asking me why God wasn't helping her and why life was going the way it was. She said she felt like God wasn't there. She went into great details of her life. She talked to me about some pretty heavy things going on and I was able to offer a prayer of comfort to her over the phone. I shared some Scriptures with her and she immediately stopped crying and began talking with a lot of hope. She said "I know I don't know you but something lead me to call you, I am so grateful I was lead to you." I know that it was the spirit guiding her. It was such a powerful testament to me of how powerful the spirit is. I know that I may not be able to help her with some of the major things going on in her life but I know that through the spirit she was able to find comfort and peace in her trials. We ended up talking for about an hour. I was able to relate to her and continued reading Scriptures with her.  I was able to share my experiences and trials that I have had that related to her to help calm her down. I can now say as missionaries we are truly called to a people for a reason.

Our New Years Eve was pretty laid back. We drove to the coast to see the sunset! It was absolutely beautiful. I love it here! Some of the amazing sisters in our zone brought us sparklers, glasses and hats to celebrate! The elders in our area brought us treats and drinks! As a mission we did a talent show. All the talents were filmed and we were able to watch them on a Facebook live! I love celebrating and I always have the worst case of FOMO (fear of missing out) but this year between covid and a non eventful day I would say going to bed early wasn't too bad!

Our quarantine ended yesterday... thank heavens! We were able to go to the Portland temple today! It was absolutely amazing! We road tripped to Eugene last night from Coos Bay and stayed the night. While driving up to Eugene we got pulled over! Sister Neilson is from a small town in Wyoming and is the WORST driver! It's so funny...I think I get whipp lash everytime I ride with her. She was driving in the middle of two lanes for a little while and cut a corner really sharp and started driving on the shoulder. The cop pulled us over to check if she was drunk...all I can say is... oh brother!

     NEW YEARS GOALS!!!
I have really been pondering this week about New Years goals! GOALS HELP us to become and I have been so excited to set goals for myself! I hope everyone has made some awesome goals this New Year and if you haven't it's not too late! I wanted to challenge everyone to have a spiritual goal. It can be really easy to push spiritual goals to the side and focus on things of the world. But I know you will see many needed blessings come to you by allowing yourself time to focus on the spirit each day. I hope that all of you will find a way to be ambitious for Christ this year. How can you be ambitious for Christ? What goals can you set that will help you fulfill His work? The LORDS WORK TRULY IS AMAZING and as we strive to bring other unto Him, He has promised us that we will receive great blessings. He needs ALL of His children to help gather Israel. I hope that this year you will be able to set a goal that makes you ambitious for Christ!

I love and miss you all dearly!!! I hope that you lovely people have a great week!
